About this place
Extraordinary country house situated in a breathtaking location in the picturesque mountain village of Galilea offering panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and the sea. The property has been built respecting local traditions and using natural materials but at the same time complying with modern building requirements. The result is a very well built house with a special ambiance and character in a unique location in the middle of the UNESCO protected Tramuntana Mountains and still with the possibility to be socially connected in such a charming village as Galilea is. The village has about 500 inhabitants, two restaurant/tapas bars and is the perfect location for those searching for a peaceful and immensely beautiful natural environment. The neighbour village of Puigpunyent is only 10 minutes away by car and there can additional services such as supermarkets and post office be found. The beches of the southwest, Palmanova, Santa Ponsa and Paguera, and the centre of Palma can be reached in less than 30 minutes by car.
Buying property in Spain
Spain welcomes foreign buyers with no nationality restrictions. The buyer needs an NIE (Número de Identidad de Extranjero) before completion, and most buyers open a Spanish bank account to handle the deposit and ongoing charges. An independent lawyer (abogado) is strongly recommended — the notario only checks the deed, not the wider title.
Spain ended its Golden Visa property route in April 2025. Non-resident mortgages are widely available, typically 60–70% LTV. Non-resident sellers face a 3% withholding from the sale price (retención), claimable against capital gains tax. Always check community-of-owners (comunidad) debts and outstanding IBI before completion — they transfer with the property.
General guidance only — confirm specifics with a qualified local lawyer or tax adviser. Reference
